- Course objectives
- Radiodiagnostic: CT, MR, X-ray, ultrasound, angiography, interventional radiology, indications, contraindication, risk factors, limits, technical aspect, anatomy, interpretations of the findings. Methods of diagnostic imaging used in different subspecializations and areas like pediatric radiology, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, abdominal imaging, imaging in oncology, uroradiology, woman imaging and cardiac imaging are discussed. With each examination procedure and method the contrast agents, indications, contraindications and risk factors as well as limits are explained. Technical principles, standards, protections and “how to do it” are also learned.Elements of mathematics and physics necessary for understanding principles of diagnostic and therapeutical methods in radiology.

- 1. Radiation: particles and waves. The electromagnetic spectrum. 2. The structure of matter. Atoms. Nuclei. Conservation laws. 3. SI system of units, relation to other units. Terminology. 4. Mathematics: functions, equations. 5. Mathematics: Basics of calculus. 6. Mathematics: probability, measurement and data analysis. 7. Radioactivity. 8. X - rays. 9. Ultrasound. 10. Mathematics: Principles of tomography. 11. MRI and CT. 12. Repetitorium. Technical and legislative rules of X-ray I - lecture: CT, MR, X-ray, ultrasound, angiography, interventional radiology, indications, contraindication, risk factors, limits, technical aspect, legislative rules. Methods of diagnostic imaging used in different subspecializations (pediatric radiology, neuroradiology, interventional radiology) are discussed.
