Course objectives
Students will be introduced with the history of obesity, epidemiology, prevention, factors influencing the emergence and development of obesity, the health risks of obesity, a macronutrients metabolism, micronutrients, fiber and tissue metabolism, the determination methods of dietary consumption, ways of assessing nutritional status and overview of testing in obesity, psychology, cognitive behavioral way
Syllabus
  • 1) Definitions, history of obesity, epidemiology, prevention, causes and health risks of obesity.
  • 2) Genetic factors and obesity, methods of genetic testing in obese people.
  • 3) Macronutrients, micronutrients and seminutrients in nutrition of obese people.
  • 4) Obesity and fluid intake, choice of beverages.
  • 5) Sleep and Obesity.
  • 6) Obesity in children.
  • 7) Methods of assessment of nutritional status, an overview of the various tests in obesity.
  • 8) Methods of assessment of nutritional consumption.
  • 9) Psychological care, cognitive-behavioral way, communication.
