- Course objectives
- The main stress in the orofacial pathology course is given on macroscopic and microscopic correlation of diseases. After finishing the course the student should be able to: understand the basic pathologic processes in orofacial region(regressive changes, inflammaton, oncology, immune disorders); understand and be able to apply the basic classification of oncologic processes; understand the basic classification of etiologically defined processes; understand various disorders with respect to individual organs and organ systems;
- Syllabus
- Orofacial pathology: oral mucosal lesions, oral and perioral inflammations; tongue pathology; oral mucosal changes in systemic diseases, allergy and autoimmune diseases, tooth hard tissues diseases, lesions of the pulp and the parodont, granulomas a epulides, face and jaws cysts. Tumors: epidemiology, carcinomas and precanceroses, nonepithelial tumors, odontogenic tumors. Salivary glands pathology, lymph nodes and joints pathology, osteopathies in oral and facial region,.
