- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
1. Name all parts of the human skeleton including the detailed relief.
2. Describe correctly joints of the bones.
3. Describe the movements occurring at each joint.
4. Characterize the newborn skull.
5. Distinguish the male and female skull and pelvis.
6. Identify individual muscles of the human body, discuss their attachments and innervations.
7. Define actions of individual muscles and muscular groups.
8. Define the components of the major organ systems (digestive, respiratory, urinary, male and female genital)
9. Explain the morphology of the organs
10. Create apprehension about position and spatial relationships of particular organs and organ systems - Syllabus
- 1. Anatomical terminology. Terms of location and orientation. Imaging. General osteology. General description of the skeleton.
- 2. Skeleton of the upper and lower limb (selection).
- 3. Skull.
- 4. General arthrology. Description of the joint. Joints of the head, spine and upper limb (glenohumeral and elbow joints).
- 5. Joints of the upper and lower limbs (selection). Arches of the foot.
- 6. General myology. Description of the muscle. How to study about muscles.
- 7. Alimentary tract 1. The wall of the gastrointestinal tube. The oral cavity – large intestine (selection).
- 8. Alimentary tract 2. Liver, gallbladder, pancreas. Peritoneum.
- 9. Respiratory system (selection).
- 10. Urinary system (selection). Male genital organs (selection).
- 11. Spinal nerve. Dorsal rami of the spinal nerves. Brachial, lumbar and sacral plexuses. Survey of regions of the back and limbs.
