- Course objectives
- During this exercise a student goes through and consults problems connected with diploma work preparation. The goal of the diploma work is to prove student’s ability to apply theoretical knowledge acquired with help of concrete cases solution from medical practice. The student can use knowledge from various studying subjects, can evaluate their mutual connections and can use professional literature. After consultation with work leader the student determines structure, timetable, methods and processing of the tossing diploma theme. Diploma work is judged with leader and opponent. Opponent is chosen with agreement of discipline coordinator. He evaluates diploma work methodically and formally. The student must deliver diploma work, which must have got 80-100 pages, in two copies on deal date. The defence of the diploma work is part of state final exam.
- Syllabus
- Thesis structure: introduction, aims, subjects and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, summary, bibliography. Basic research methods and their application; PC data processing, introduction into methods of statistics. Literature search, excursion to Medical Library; the Internet and specialized databases Formal style and computer processing of the thesis, data evaluation. At the end of the semester, students submit to processing the theoretical part, including the evaluation of the pilot study, collecting research data.
