- Course objectives
- Brief annotation: Basic knowledge of caring for woman and child during physiological childbirth, caring for newborn after the childbirth and for infant, caring for woman during physiological childbed is introduced with this subject. Management of non-pharmacological and pharmacological managing pain methods, as well as including possibility of water birth is introduced. Home childbirth – out patient birth and help during birth outside the hospital are covered too. The subject covers the topic of child gynaecology field and prevention of non wanted pregnancy problems. Problems of primary a secondary prevention of oncology breast disease are discussed. Learning outcomes: After these lessons students will be able to: - to apply knowledge and skills in primary and secondary field of caring for woman, newborn and baby (in practise); - to lead a childbirth under a supervision (all the stages), - to offer non-pharmacological methods of pain managing; - to examine and take care of a newborn; - to take care of woman during childbed, to support breastfeeding, to educate; - to assist during child examination, - to diagnose house violence symptoms and child maltreatment symptoms; - to provide complex care to woman after the sexual violation;

- Syllabus
- Module subject: - First stage, amniotomy, midwife’s activities during childbirth, obstetrical ways and power; - 2nd stage, mechanisms of physiological childbirth during cephalic presentation, baby’s head size, midwife’s activities – hand technique; - 3rd stage – separation of placenta, midwife’s activities – hand techniques, checking of solidity, complex care provided in 3rd and 4th stage; - Physiological newborn – after labour adaptation, phoeto placentar circulation, newborn monitoring a assesment – Apgar score, first care-giving, first breastfeeding; - Pain management during childbirth, Simkin’s strategy of childbirth leading; - New ways in midwifery – childbirth humanisation, water birth, massage of perineum, home childbirth, out-patient childbirth; - Physiological childbed – midwife’s activities, management of home childbed; - Breast feeding, support, techniques- midwife’s activities; - Physiological childbed - LAM, oncological breast disease prevention (primary, secondary – breast self-examination); - Midwife’s activities on child gynaecology field, prevention of non wanted pregnancies and their consequences (ITP as a social world wide problem); - Detection of house violence symptoms;
