Course objectives
The main learning objectives are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the organization and meaning of psychiatry in nursing care
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the treatment of acute psychiatric conditions
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments of
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the meaning and organization of psychiatry in nursing care
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common psychiatric disorders and psychoses
- suggest appropriate acute treatment to calm a restless patient
- suggest appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments;
