- Biochemistry (programme PřF, B-BCH)
- Laboratory Assistant (programme LF, B-SZ)
- Course objectives
- This course covers the introductory principles and concepts of human physiology. Students will learn and understand the basic principles, concepts and facts of human physiology. The course will examine cellular, organ and whole body levels of organization with special focus on the relationships between structure and functions. As an elementary course, physiology not only provides the foundations for the subsequent clinical courses, but also integrates the knowledge acquired by students in the courses of anatomy and histology and uses the same methodology as clinical biochemistry and medical physics.
- Learning outcomes
- At the succesfully end of the course Physiology - at the level of its study field, the student will be able to ;
describe basic functions of the human body - from cells, individual tissues, organs, systems and organism as a whole ;
explain the basic types of regulation in the human organism ;
determine the basic numerical parameters of a healthy adult human;
to apply basic physiological principles to the clinical problems of their study field - Syllabus
- Cellular physiology, cell membranes, functional systems of the cell.
- Tissues.Blood cells, blood groups, hemostasis, blood coagulation.
- Immunity.
- Transport of substances through the cell membrane.Membrane potentials and action potentials.
- Heart muscle, rhytmical excitation of the heart. Circulation.
- Electrocardiogram, examination techniques in cardiology.
- Overwiew of blood circulation, its pecularities.
