- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students are able to understand main pharmacological mechanisms of drug actions and their combinations leading to therapeutic, adverse and toxic effects of drugs.

- Syllabus
- LECTURE 1: Definition of pharmacology and basic terminology. Drug classification. Mechanisms of drug effects. Basic pharmacokinetics.
- LECTURE 2: Factors responsible for variation in drug response. Adverse drug reactions. Drug interactions. Research and development of drugs.

- Teaching methods
- The curriculum enables attendance at lectures lead by teachers of pharmacology.
- Assessment methods
- During the studying the students have to prove active knowledge of pharmacology acquired. The students have to pass colloquium on topics studied during the semester: final written multiple-choice test. In the test students are asked to answer multiple-choice questions. Only 1 correct answer is possible for each question. The test contains 20 questions. One point is granted for each correctly answered question. To pass the test student needs at least 60% out of the maximum score.
