Course objectives
The course introduces basic sociological concepts and theories. The students get also fundamental knowledge about methodology of research in social sciences. It is also focused on the gender aspects of social phenomenons. Main objectives can be summarized as follows: To think in social context and reflect social consequences of midwifery. The core of the course is the discussion about the selected social phenomenons.

On successful completion of the course student will be able to
identify social aspects of their profession
analyse social relevance of the phenomenon of bitrhgiving
debate the pitfall of social normativity of their profesion
evaluate social dimensions of birthgiving
