Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquaint the student with principles of basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, extensive resuscitation, recognition and evaluation of basic critical states. On the end of the course the student will be able to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitationand and will understand how to perform advance cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The student will be able to asses the critical ill patient.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able:

- to understand how to perform advance cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Syllabus
  • Intensive care practical training- two weeks intensive course
  • time: 10:15-12:30

  • 1st week
  • Monday: CPR, chest compression, recognition of arrest, laryngeal mask, intubation
  • Tuesday: Advanced CPR, defibrillation, drugs for CPR, cycles of CPR
  • Wednesday: Shocks, hypovolemia, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction
  • Thursday: Respiratory insufficiency, asthma, COPD, PNO, asphyxia, tamponade
  • Friday: Paediatric intensive care, !courses are located in KDAR!
  • 2nd week at ARK
  • Monday: intoxication, gastric lavage, hyperkalaemia, hyponatremia, anaphylactic shock
  • Tuesday: trauma, head trauma, thoracic and abdominal trauma, basic approach
  • Wednesday: scenario of critically ill patient, sepsis
  • Thursday: MOF- definition, CVVHD, acid bace- practical training
  • Friday: scenario of critically ill. Credit
