- Course objectives
- The subject brings the theoretical information and practical experience in nursing care in ICU with the stress on the therapy of patients with infectious diseases. The greates accent is done on the exceptionality of intensive care in infectious diseases - the barrier access, prevention of nosocomial infections, protection of the health-care workers, typical diagnosis.
- Learning outcomes
- The student can explain and describe the causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of patients with a serious infectious disease.
- Syllabus
- - ICU in infectious diseases - exceptionality – barrier access, prevention of nosocomial infections, protection of the health-care workers - septic menigitis – septic shock – herpetic menigoencefalitis – tick-born oncephalitis – infectious gastroenteritis with serious dehydratation - CVVH – Clostridium difficile infection – fulminant viral hepatitis – liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma due to chronic HBV and HCV infection – spondylodiscitis – infectious endocarditis – oportunistic infections in HIV patients – infectious complications in seriously immunosuppressed patients
