- Basic high school physics knowledge level plus the finishing of biophysically oriented subjects in bachelor study programme.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to understand to the necessary extent the principles of devices used in medicine and their application in practice, including the safe use of these devices.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should: * Understand, to the extent necessary, the principles of methods and devices used in medicine with an emphasis on the profession of nutritional therapist * recognize the potential risks associated with the use of certain medical devices (mechanical, electromagnetic and light character, ionizing radiation) * be familiar with the principles of safe use of these devices, both for patients and healthcare professionals * list the risks of ionizing radiation, its effects on the living organism, * describe the radiation protection system, principles for applying radiation protection requirements and practical methods of protection

- Methods and instruments for ionising radiation therapy.

- Ultrasound Doppler and duplex methods.
- Measurement and registration of mechanical quantities.

- Legislation framework of medical devices. Radiation protection - ionizing radiation, its basic types and properties, adverse effects of ionizing radiation, radiation exposure of the population, methods of protection against ionizing radiation, principles of residence in areas with sources of ionizing radiation, legislation in the field of radiation protection, responsibilities in the use of ionizing radiation sources..

Information on completion of the course: Základní podmínkou ukončení předmětu je napsání písemného testu, nejméně na 28 / 50 bodů.Student v případě nesplnění podmínek jedenkrát opakovat test. V druhém opravném termínu bude student ústně vyzkoušen (3 otázky).
