- Semináře jsou doplňkem k předmětu Lékařská chemie-přednáška EMLC0111p. V jeho rámci jsou aplikovány a procvičovány znalosti z obecné, anorganické, organické a bioorganické chemie.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will:
- understand the basics of general, inorganic and organic chemistry to the extent necessary for further study of biochemistry - be able to apply general physicochemical laws to processes in living organisms - be able to describe the properties of the most important biogenic elements and compounds important in medicine, nutrition and toxicology - be able to describe and discuss the properties and reactions of organic and bioorganic compounds important for understanding biochemical processes. - Syllabus
- Properties of particles, moles and molar quantities, composition of solutions, basic calculations.
- Electrolyte dissociation, ion activity, ionic strength, osmotic pressure, osmolarity.
- Proteolytic reactions, pH calculations of solutions, buffers.
- Reaction kinetics, law of chemical equilibrium.
- Energetics of reactions, relation to equilibrium constant.
- Redox reactions, electrode potentials, applications.
- International and Latin names of compounds Properties and transformations of characteristic groups (-OH, -SH, -NH 2, -CO-, -CHO) in compounds.
- Properties and transformations of carboxylic acids and their derivatives.
- Biochemically important heterocycles and their derivatives. Non-binding interactions, adsorbents, surfactants.
- Properties and structure of carbohydrates.
- Properties and structure of amino acids.
- Properties and structure of proteins.
- Properties and structure of lipids and steroids.
