- Course objectives
- The goal of the education is to give the learner basic knowledge on dermatovenereology.At the end of the course students should be able to assess the extent and importance of skin changes that they can meet during their future practice.
- Learning outcomes
- Student is able to make a difference between unimportant common skin findings and skin diseases that need examination and treatment by a specialist.
- Syllabus
- The first part of lectures is focused on general problems like structure of the skin, hygiene of healthy and diseased skin, basic morphology, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic possibilities in dermatology with the emphasis on topical therapy. In the second – special part – especially suppurative, fungal, viral and parasitic skin diseases, drug eruptions, eczemas, psoriasis, skin features of chronic venous insufficiency and skin tumors are discussed with the help of photographic images. The final part is dedicated to sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS. Special emphasis is given on the diseases with the possible involvement of the eye and on the facial dermatoses. The design: Structure and functions of the skin. Skin morphology Hygiene of the healthy and diseased skin. Diagnostic procedures in dermatovenereology Topical therapy. Suppurative skin diseases Eczema-dermatitis group. Psoriasis vulgaris Drug eruptions. Leg ulcers Skin tumors. Venereology
