Course objectives
- proper handling of instruments, devices materials and mecdicaments in dental office - practical application of knowledge of head and neck anatomy for the needs of dental hygienist
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- identify instruments, apparatus, materials and medicines used in the dental office,
- explain their function,
- know theoretically basic techniques used in oral cavity surgery,
- master the basic operation and maintenance of instruments and instruments
- handle materials and medicines correctly
- describe the individual teeth of the temporary and permanent teeth
- describe and integrate all anatomical structures of the splanchnocranium
- describe and integrate the basic anatomical structures of the neurocranium and the neck
- describe structures in extraoral OPG X-ray image

  • completion of the course... Dental mmaterials - main and auxilliar
  • Filling materials - temporary and permanent
  • Impression materials
  • Materials and medicaments for endodontics
  • Principles of proper handling and storage of dental materials
  • Instruments - for investigation, praparation, filling and impression
  • Devices in dental office – dental unit, sterilizators, amalgamators, polymerization units, mixing machine for impression materials, ultrasound devices, intraoral x-ray devices
  • Equipment for the first aid
  • Theoretical basis of surgical techniques in oral cavity.
  • Practical work with models of skull, head, oral cavity and individual teeth.
