Course objectives
The Sociology course presume that a medical work is not merely isolated act, but take place in the society, therefore construct this society (in the meaning of social constructivism) and is by this society constructed. The course will provide students with the knowledge of basic sociological concepts, especially those concerning sociology of health, illness and medicine.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course student will be able to
critically reflect social impacts of their profession,
critically reflect social normativity of medicine discourse,
critically reflect social differences of patients with different social origin,
discuss the demographical structural of contemporary Czech society and its trends.
