Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the main principles of health protection and health promotion, according to main determinants of health based on the objectives of the National Health Program. Students should be able to use their knowledge in intervention regarding modifiable factors, both in patients and general population.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
To identify and describe the main determinants of health and its significance, to distinguish between essential and less important factors;
To define and describe the main principles and ways of public health protection;
To characterize major environmental factors and risks (physical, chemical, biological);
To define and describe the main occupational risks a ways for protection;
To define and describe the main lifestyle risks;
To define and describe the main ways of health promotion.

Assessment methods
Colloquium in the form of written test with 20 questions with four choice of answers. Always only one answer is correct. In the case of a colloquium, it is required to have more than 50% correct answers for the pass mark (passed) and credit.
