- Knowledge of medical physiology in the extent of subjects Physiology I and II taught at Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University.

- Course objectives
- To teach students to understand physiology of reproduction in the extend of demands on clinical embryologist. An essential aim is that students acquire critical thinking, ability to work with information and interpret them.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students will have sufficient theoretical background from reproductive physiology. Student understands clinical applications of reproductive physiology including principles of assisted reproduction techniques.
- Syllabus
- Introduction to reproductive physiology. Function of the hypothalamus in the reproduction system. GnRH and its importance in IVF techniques. Adenohypophysis and reproductive system; FSH and LH. Physiology of the reproductive system of men and women. Ovarian and endometrial physiology. Testes. Sexual behavior. Physiology of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation. Newborn physiology. Puberty and menopause and their physiological aspects. Physiological aspects of hormonal contraception. Hormones and other humoral substances as markers of the reproductive system.
