Course objectives
The aim of the course is to understand and sufficient theoretical knowledge in epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and prevention of the most important pathological conditions in gynecology and obstetrics. It provides a sufficient overview of the graduate in matters of reproductive health, family planning, diagnosis and treatment of infertility and maternal care during pregnancy. Rehabilitation procedures in gynecology and obstetrics at different stages of life of a woman of childbearing age and menopause.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to apply physiotherapeutic procedures in gynecology and obstetrics, acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive system. The student is able to apply in older patients the contractility of muscles in the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles and prevent the pathology of incontinence. The student knows the indications and contraindications of exercise therapy in high-risk pregnancies.
Syllabus
  • Application of rehabilitation procedures for pathological conditions in obstetrics:
  • Fertilization and development of a fertilized egg. Fetal storage at the end of pregnancy. Prenatal care. The delivery mechanism during childbirth in the longitudinal position of the head. Position of the fetus at the pelvic end - causes, diagnosis, mechanism of childbirth. Oblique and transverse positions. Multiple pregnancies. Hypertensive diseases in pregnancy, preeclampsia, eclampsia. Fetal growth disorders. Premature birth, causes, clinical course. Ectopic pregnancy - causes, clinical course, diagnosis. Hypoxic newborn. Puerperal infections. Maternal morbidity and mortality. Perinatal mortality and morbidity.

  • Menstrual cycle and its regulation Gynecological examination Laparoscopy, hysteroscopy. Endocrine function of the ovary, ovarian hormones. Menstrual disorders. Gynecological inflammations - etiology, pathophysiology. Sexually transmitted diseases. Genital and extragenital endometriosis. Sterility, infertility - causes, significance. Principles of assisted reproduction. Contraception. Benign and malignant neoplasms of births. Urinary incontinence - division. Benign and malignant breast diseases. Chronic pelvic pain.
