Course objectives
To broaden students’ knowledge in pediatric health care particularly in both organization of general pediatric clinics and preventive care, and the role of a physiotherapist in this setting. To introduce common pediatric illnesses, their etiology, course, treatment options and prognosis. To gain an insight into distinctive characteristics of pediatric care. To hone communication skills with regard to pediatric patients.
Learning outcomes
The expected outcomes of the training programme:
- Broadened knowledge of the pediatric health care and its organisation
- Improved knowledge of common pediatric illnesses and their etiology, course, treatment and prognosis
- Ability to identify red flags of diseases affecting physiological development of children and adolescents
- Improved communication skills with pediatric patients and their parents
