Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain palpation skills in differential diagnosis and therapy of movement segments, including the axial skeleton based on theoretical knowledge and topographic anatomy of soft tissues and joint structures.
Learning outcomes
The student masters an independent examination of the myoskeletal system in the differential diagnosis, is able to choose and apply an adequate form of movement segment therapy based on theoretical knowledge and practical skills and educate the patient about the relevant form of autotherapy.

  • Significance of functional changes of soft tissues, physiological and pathological barrier
  • Examination and therapy of fascia
  • Examination and therapy of fascia on the upper and lower limbs
  • Examination and therapy of soft tissues above periosteal points
  • PIR muscles in the orofacial and neck
  • PIR muscles in the area of the shoulder girdle and upper torso
  • PIR muscles in the wrist and forearm
  • PIR muscles in the area of the pelvic girdle and lower torso
  • PIR muscles in the leg and lower leg
