Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are:
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about the importance of psychiatry in other medical and paramedical fields
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about major psychiatric disorders and psychoses
- acquiring theoretical knowledge about possible pharmacological and non-pharmacological procedures for the treatment of psychiatric disorders
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the importance of psychiatry for other medical and non-medical fields
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common psychiatric disorders and psychotic illnesses
- propose appropriate acute treatment to calm a restless patient
- propose appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment for the treatment of psychiatric disorders

Assessment methods
In order to pass the course, it is necessary to go through all the chapters of the interactive curriculum, pass all the practice tests and pass the final test.
Practice tests can be attempted repeatedly until at least 75% of the questions are answered correctly. Please note that the first and last lessons are face-to-face, not online.
Final exam in the form of an online test at IS MUNI
The test has 10 questions, to pass the test the student must answer at least 6 questions correctly
In case of unsuccessful completion of the final online test, a corrective credit test will be made available.

Teaching in the autumn semester of 2024 takes place together for the N Mgr fields of VDD, OPTO and FYZI in a hybrid form, i.e. a combination of face-to-face and online teaching.

The first and last lecture will take place face-to-face in the auditorium of the Psychiatric Clinic.

Other classes will take place online. The Interactive Syllabus in IS MUNI will guide you through the lesson

Learning objectives include gaining knowledge about common psychiatric disorders encountered in the provision of health care and determining appropriate interventions for specific psychiatric cases.
