Course objectives
Students will have complex knowledge about all type orthodontic anomalies. Students are able: - to explain their aetiology and consequences - to suggest an appropriate treatment method concerning patient age and efficiency of orthodontic appliances - to use of orthodontic knowledge in interdisciplinary treatment planning
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, the student has a comprehensive understanding of all types of orthodontic anomalies. He/she can explain their etiology and consequences, suggest the appropriate type of treatment taking into account the age of the patient and the effectiveness of each type of orthodontic appliance. Furthermore, the student is able to apply knowledge of orthodontics in planning the treatment of a patient in dental practice with regard to interdisciplinary cooperation.
Syllabus
  • The aim is to concentrate on complex utilization of obtained orthodontic knowledge in interdisciplinary cooperation with pedostomatology, prosthetics, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and paradentology. Students will obtain information about teeth eruption anomalies (ectopic eruption, impacted teeth, supernumerary teeth).
