- Course objectives
- Aim of this subject is hand over to students compact scheme of all pathological processes of defects and diseases of eye. Eye pathology study diseases end defects of eye according to particular structure of this organ , but also according to function and according to influence of general diseases to the eye.
- Syllabus
- -disorders of the lens, abnormalities of lens shape and position, cataracts – congenital, senile , complicata , cataract surgery , operative complications , correction of postoperative refraction defect -the glaucomas ,examination techniques , primary open- angle glaucoma, primary angle -closer glaucoma . - special forms of open-angle glaucoma , secondary glaucomas , congenital glaucomas , treatment . - refractive defects , myopia, hypermetropia - refractive defects II: astigmatism, presbiopia , accommodation, convergency, disorders and treatment . -neuro-ophthalmology : disorders of visual pathways , subjective and objective symptoms , optic neuritis , papilloedema . -disorders of the chiasm , disorders of retrochiasmal visual pathways. -disorders of the pupil , nystagmus . -strabismus , etiology , clinical features , apparent and latent squint . -physiology and pathology of binocular vision , squint paralytic. -disorders of the orbit, orbital inflammatory diseases , endocrinous orbithopathy . -tumours and trauma of the orbit. -traumatology in ophthalmology , corneal and conjunctival foreign body , penetrating eye injury , contusion of eye and surrounding structures. -termal and chemical burns to the eye and ocular adnexa, first aid , treatment , complications . -credit hours.
