Course objectives
The aim of studying human physiology is that it integrates the individual functions of all different organs and cells into a functional whole, the human body.
Syllabus
  • Gastrointestinal physiology (morphology, function). Stomach, small intestine, large intestine, pancreas, liver. The nutrition. Endocrinology. Stress, pregnancy, lactation. Neurophysiology (morphology, function), mediators. Organization of the nervous system, sensory receptors. Organization of spinal cord, reflex (muscle stretch, flexor, crossed extensor, postural and locomotive reflex), reciprocal inhibition and reciprocal innervations. Cortical and brain stem control of motor function. The cerebellum, the basal ganglia and overall motor control, the cerebral cortex. Behavioral and motivational mechanisms of the brain. The eye (optics of vision, receptor and neuronal function, central neurophysiology of vision). The sense of hearing. The taste and smell. The physiology of childhood and old age.
