Course objectives
At the end of the course, student should understand and be able to explain: Appointing of the main determinants of health. Ways of controlling and modifying them for public health protection. Lifestyle and its main factors, possibilities and ways of lifestyle modifications. Living and occupational environment, main factors, hygienic norms and limits. Principles of health protection and promotion in different population groups. Prevention, it’s forms and aims.
Syllabus
  • Health determinants, causes of diseases, main principles and possibilities of public health protection, primary and secondary prevention and their priorities. Lifestyle and role in public health protection Work a health, prevention of harmful influences of occupational environment Water a health Genotoxic risks evaluation Biological exposure test, exposure to heavy metals and other substances in living and occupational environments Healthy nutrition in public health protection, dietary guidelines Living environment and health I – main factors, principles of influence on health Living environment and health II – important specific areas , ways of environmental control and protection
