Course objectives
The lessons are focused on the practical improvement of swimming techniques in swimming and canoe riding techniques within the water tourism course. Students will also acquire the basic skills in rescue and transport of drowning in artificial and natural environments and underwater swimming.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: A) Swimming:
- Demonstrate the endurance concept of crawl technique
- Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills of swimming underwater
- Control basic skills to help tired swimmers and rescue toning including transport B) Water tourism:
- Control the basics of canoeing on gently flowing water
- Apply acquired theoretical knowledge of canoe safety
- to distinguish the technique of direct and reverse cannon
- Properly practice equipment and canoeing equipment
- Plan, organize a rescue action of a toning
Syllabus
  • A) Swimming
  • Improving the techniques of swimming methods of breast, emblem and crawl
  • Elementary swimming with the use of aids
  • Start jump and turn
  • Hypoxic swimming
  • Endurance swimming in the crawl way
  • Help the tired swimmer and rescue the drowning in the pool
  • B) Water tourism
  • Theory of technique of driving on C2 on smooth and slightly flowing water
  • Safety of movement in water
  • First aid on smooth and slightly flowing water, rescue of drowning in natural terrain and difficult conditions - technique training, transport
  • Cannon and Canoeing Equipment
  • Practical training of skills on flowing water - technique of direct, back and attraction of the canoe

Assessment methods
A) Swimming:
The swimming skills of the crawl swimming will be assessed at a distance of 150m with an emphasis on the correct technique according to the swimming rules and swimming below 15m (women) and 25m (men). Part of the credit is active participation in classes - in water.
B) The credit is awarded to the student on the basis of the successful passing of the course and the practical test.
• Practical test:
- Demonstration of basic control shots on the canoe
- Demonstration of rescue of drowning
