Course objectives
The subject is of practical nature
Consolidates the theoretical information ained in the lectures
Emphasizes the practical solution of acute psychiatric conditions in pregnancy, childbirth and lactation
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
recognize the symptoms of the most common mental disorders
recognize the symptoms of the first attack of psychotic illnesses
react early and decide on appropriate nursing care in detecting these disorders

  • Nursing process in patients with acute restlessness, psychological disorder or psychosis with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth and lactation
  • Nursing process via non-pharmacological methods
  • Communication principles with restless patient

Practical training takes place at the departments of the Psychiatric Clinic of the University Hospital Brno Bohunice, Jihlavská 20, building G, II. storey. Students will wait after the lecture in front of the lecture hall, where they will be picked up by the instructor.
