Course objectives
At the end of the course students are able to understand main pharmacological mechanisms of drug actions leading to therapeutic, adverse and toxic effects of drugs and eventually their combinations. They will know what the principles of drug prescription are and what information is available in the Pharmacopoea. They be able to recognize main drug classes and pharmacological profiles of representative drugs from groups of drugs selected in the curriculum. Students are able to calculate the basic pharmacokinetic parameters after drug administration.

Assessment methods
During the studying the students have to prove active knowledge of pharmacology acquired. Students have to pass the exam: final written multiple-choice test. In the Final Exam students are asked to answer to multiple-choice questions. Only 1 correct answer is possible to each question. The test contains 20 questions. One point is granted for each correctly answered question. The summary of the score obtained is evaluated as follows: mark A = 18-20; B = 16-17; C = 14-15; D = 12-13; E = 11; F = 10 and less points.
