Course objectives
This series of lectures concludes with theoretical knowledge in the area of ​​Clinical Rehabilitation of Binocular Vision.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this series of the lectures, the student will be able to:
- focus on the problems of diagnostic methods and the possibilities of conservative treatment of strabismus, in the pleoptic and orthoptic treatment and also in the surgical treatment.
Syllabus
  • Syllabus of individual lectures:
  • Lens illness and accommodation (accommodation defects, artephakia), pupillary disorders
  • Neurological diagnosis (supra and internuclear disorders, nystagmus, multiple sclerosis, coma, contusion): nystagmus (orthoptic analysis, strategy, technique, timing, monitoring and risk of orthoptic therapy), retinopathy of premature (strategies, monitoring, orthoptic care - diagnostics and therapy )
  • Central Visual Impairment, Delayed Visual Impairment, Premature Visual Impairment
  • Rare syndromes, uncommon strabismus (A and V pattern, vertical strabismus, CCDDs, Brown syndrome, endocrinal orbitopathy, orbital fractures): unusual forms of strabismus (orthoptic analysis, strategy, technique, timing, orthotic analysis, strategy, technique, timing, monitoring and risk of orthoptic therapy)
  • Congenital developmental learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, ...): manifestations, specific difficulties, diagnostics, orthoptic analysis, therapy, education and multidisciplinary cooperation
