- Course objectives
- The course is theoretical. It focuses on child development from birth to his physiological and pathophysiological development, especially to deal with acute conditions in children.
- Learning outcomes
- The student has knowledge of the origin, course, treatment and prognosis of the most common childhood diseases. The student is able to define risk factors that threaten the healthy development of the child and adolescents. The students will be able to provide a qualified first aid in acute events.
- Syllabus
- Distribution of childhood growth and child development, growth charts, psychomotor development
- Prevention programs (screening, vaccinations, preventive examinations)
- Anatomical and physiological peculiarities of children
- Nutrition disorders, early postpartum period, postnatal adaptation of the newborns
- Birthing traumatism, apnea newborn, fetal circulation, congenital heart defects and their manifestations
- child nutrition from birth, natural, artificial
- the most common infectious diseases in children
- the most common non-communicable diseases in children
- the pain of a child contact with parents, the death of a child, ethics in neonatology and paediatrics
- Neurologic morbidity. Acute conditions in paediatrics.
