Course objectives
The student will learn to fit all types of contact lenses, will perform a follow-up, will be able to recommend appropriate lens care. In the event of complications, appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures will be known.
Learning outcomes
- identifying and evaluating the fitting of a suitable type of contact lens, lens care systems
Syllabus
  • Patient examination to determine optimal spectacle correction, contact lens correction. Aspheric, spherical and toric hydrogel and silicone-hydrogel lenses and their fitting. Cosmetic and prosthetic lenses and their fitting. Corneal, sclero-corneal, scleral and hybrid permeable lenses correcting keratoconus and other corneal dystrophies. Therapeutic contact lenses and their fitting for bullous keratopathy and other diseases of the anterior eye. Diagnostic contact lenses for examination methods (gonioscopy, X-ray, ERG, EOG) in collaboration with ophthalmologist.
