Course objectives
At the end of this exercise, the student will be able to quote the conditions for the assignment and processing of a bachelor's thesis determined by the institute or clinic responsible for teaching the relevant bachelor study program. It will show the orientation in the correct citation of the literature used in the bachelor thesis. The submitted bachelor's thesis is submitted by the student to the study department of the Dean's Office for registration within the deadline set by the academic year schedule. The bachelor thesis is defended by the supervisor and his / her opponent (s) of the submitted thesis. The student must be acquainted with the testimonial no later than three days before the defense. The defense of the bachelor thesis is part of the final exam.

Syllabus
  • - technical optics, optical instruments, refraction for simple spherical or planar structures, refractive index, optical refracturing, beam passage, nodal point, transverse and angular magnification, thin lenses, thick lenses, lens defects, depth of field, spherical and toric lenses, prism effect, prisms, mirrors. Optical instruments (binoculars, microscopes, magnifiers, photographic devices), ophthalmological devices (ophthalmoscopes, skiascope, lens meter, slit lamp, keratometer, refractometer, diagnostic lenses). Polarized light, imaging quality, resolution examination and correction of refractive errors: determination of correct refraction in myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, aphakia. Optical characteristics of spectacle lenses, materials, correction of muscle imbalances, absorption lenses, bifocal and multifocal spectacles, working safety glasses. Examination of colour vision, visual acuity, contrast sensitivity. Hard and soft contact lenses, indications and contraindications for use, contact lens care Measurement of intraocular pressure and examination of the field of vision on perimeter and campimeter; visual disturbances and eye disease; anatomy of the eye Visual pathway, optical properties of the eye, spatial vision, binocular vision disorders, colour vision. Eyelid disorders: anomalies, shape and positional disorders, eyelid fever, inflammation of the margins, tumors. Conjunctival diseases: inflammation, reaction to physical and chemical irritation, degeneration. Lacrimal and debilitating lacrimal diseases: inflammation, tearing, dry eye syndrome, vesicular and canal inflammation, tumors; the meaning of tear film. Corneal inflammation, corneal degeneration, developmental anomalies. Cataract, lens change, aphakia, artephacia, correction. Vitreous diseases: flashes, spills, hemophthalmia. Vascular involvement of the retina, hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment. Glaucoma: examination methods, open-angle glaucoma, closed-angle glaucoma. Disturbances of accommodation, convergence, presbyopia Magnifying aids for the visually impaired.
