The sense of it is to point out the advantages and partial limitations of statistics. Students should be enabled understanding to subject-specific literature, using statistic information and evaluation of the results of statistical search.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to use the acquired knowledge in the comparison of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures from which to choose the most appropriate method in estimating the health needs of the population group, monitoring and explaining differences in the health status of different groups of people,
Syllabus
  • Importance of statistics in medical research and medical practice Basic statistic definitions ( basic sample, selection, probability ) Theoretical distribution ( normal, binomic ) Stages of the statistic search Datas description ( sorting, graphs, indicators ) Variability in medicine Statistical induction, conditions Theory of estimation Testing of statistical hypothesis Evaluation of quantitative quantities dependency Evaluation of qualitative quantities dependency Level comparison non-parametric tests Validation of dependency non-parametric tests Risk indicators, evaluation, interpretation Explanation possibilities of perceptible association
