- Course objectives
- In this course the student discusses and consults the problems related to the preparation of the diploma thesis. The aim of the diploma thesis is to demonstrate the students' ability to apply the theoretical knowledge gained by the study to solve specific problems of medical practice, to use knowledge from various study subjects, to evaluate mutual relations, to orientate in specialized literature and creatively to work with it in solving the given topic. Student, after consulting with the supervisor, will determine the structure, time schedule, methods of measuring and processing the results of the topic of the diploma thesis. The work is judged by the leader and the opponent. The opponent, appointed by mutual agreement of the coordinator of the relevant branch, evaluates the diploma thesis in terms of factual, methodical and formal.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will submit the diploma thesis in duplicate at a predetermined deadline of 80-100 pages. The defense of the diploma thesis is part of the final state examination.
- Syllabus
- Choosing the topics of the diploma thesis. Determination of the supervisor and supervisor. Structure of the thesis: introduction, theoretical part - individual chapters and subchapters, research part: introduction to the research part, aim of research, working hypothesis, research methodology, investigated persons, used instruments and aids, results, summary, discussion of results, analysis, comparison with other studies, case studies, conclusion of work, attachments, list of used literature. Basic research methods and their use. PC processing, basics of statistical methods. Learn about literature search. Excursions in the medical library. Use of the Internet and specialized databases in the preparation of the diploma thesis. Formal modification and processing of diploma thesis on PC, evaluation of research.
