Course objectives
Aim of this aubject is to give students basic practical skills in the field of endodontic therapy.
Learning outcomes
After completion of this course students are able to diagnose diseases of dental pulp and periodontal tiusses and manage root canal treatment using manual root canal shaping and filling using single cone technique and lateral compaction as well as principles of power driven endodontics and warm techniques of root canal filling.Student is able to perform vital pulp therapy procedures.
Syllabus
  • Practical training - syllabus: Examination of the patient, making diagnosis and scheme of endodontic therapy. Reading of radiograms. Diagnostics of pulpal and periodontal diseases. Differential diagnostics in endodontics. Simulated learning: Access opening, root canal shaping - manual methods. Root canal filling - single cone technique and lateral compaction. Basic power driven root canal treatment using rotary and reciprocating instruments. Root canal filling using warm gutapercha.Vital pulp therapy procedures.
