- Course objectives
- The main objective of the course is to consolidate the knowledge and instrumental skills acquired in the previous semester and to expand on additional competences and skills. The subject builds on broad theoretical knowledge and practice of individual instrumental skills first in a specialised classroom and subsequently in a clinical workplace. Emphasis is placed on compliance with evidence-based procedures. The student will be theoretically and practically ready to administer all pharmaceutical forms, he can perform the patient's pre-operative preparation, learn how to care for the patient after the surgery, will be able to observe and apply aseptic procedures in the wound coup, he will be able to care for stoma, learn how to properly attach the immobilization bandage, learn how to prepare the patient for individual specialist examinations, will be theoretically familiar with the problem of the application of transfusion therapy, practically be able to assist in the administration of transfusion, will be able to prepare the patient for the administration of transfusion and care for her/him after the administration of the blood derivative. The subject follows the knowledge of professional subjects. The teaching takes place in specialized classrooms that simulate the conditions of the clinical workplace. Emphasis is placed on compliance with health and safety rules at work, adherence to lege artis procedures in accordance with the latest scientific knowledge, acceptance of patients ' rights and development of communication skills. The acquired knowledge and skills are applied by students in clinical practice in teaching nursing practice.
- Learning outcomes
- The Student is able to: -describe and apply the principles of drug administration orally and parenterally, -prepare the patient for surgery, distinguish the short-term and long-term preparation and fulfill its individual steps, ta také care for the patient after handover from the operating hall, - assist in the administration of transfusion, prepare the patient for the administration of a blood derivative and know how and what to monitor in the patient after the end of transfusion therapy, -keep aseptic procedures when wound rebandaging, orientate in the cover materials, -define individual body stoma, practically manage them, it is able to treat the patient and other caregivers on how to treat them, -to prepare the patient for individual specialised examinations, knows their course, -attach an immobilization bandage, verify that the bandage is properly attached.
