- Course objectives
- During the exercises, students will learn how to process ejaculate, determine and evaluate a spermiogram. Additionally, students will be introduced to special methods for assessing sperm quality (DNA fragmentation, apoptosis determination).
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: Assess the morphological and functional quality of sperm according to WHO criteria.
- Syllabus
- Practical training in the processing of ejaculate and preparation of sperm for in vitro fertilization Performing and evaluating a spermiogram Demonstration of special andrological selection methods (MACS, apoptosis determination, zona pellucida binding assay, use of CASA) Influence of external factors on ejaculate quality (ROS, temperature, pH, pharmacological stimulation of sperm motility)
