Course objectives
Students will
- get acquainted with the principles of language teaching drawing on the concept of communicative approach in TFL;
- try out different methods and techniques in the micro teaching presentations and evaluate them critically;
- select, critically evaluate and adopt teaching as well as authentic materials for lessons;
- make error analysis and suggest ways of correction and giving constructive feedback;
- use their teaching portfolios to reflect on their professional development.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- apply methods and techniques of language teaching based on communicative approach in their teaching practice;
- defend the usage of the methods and techniques referring to theoretical sources;
- choose, critically evaluate and adopt suitable teaching as well as authentic materials for their lessons;
- analyse and correct their learners´ mistakes and give them supportive and constructive feedback;
- give constructive feedback to their learners as well as colleagues;
- create their Student teacher portfolio throughout the whole semester;
- reflect on their teaching in their teaching portfolio.

Teaching methods
Class discussions, micro teaching, reading analysis, teaching portfolio discussions. Online semester: Students are requested to secure good internet connection in order to participate in online lessons as indicated in the schedule. Students must attend these meetings with both the sound and camera on.
