Course objectives
The aims of the course is to teach the students how to implement longterm planning in foreign language teaching. Their skills are developed in the process of designing a one-year course of English for a clearly defined group of learners.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course the participants will be able to understand the problems of course design, the analysis of the needs of language learner, evaluation of students and teaching materials.
The students will understand different aspects of long-term planning in ELT, will be able to plan a learner-centred course.
They will be able to take part in the design of the school educational programmes.

Students will be working in pairs in order to increase the opportunities of peer feeback. Students who are abroad (eg.on Erasmus) should work in a pair with someone who is currently in Brno. AI IN THE COURSE: In the course, the use of AI is permitted for learning but not for cheating. It is acceptable to use AI for brainstorming ideas, basic proofreading, suggestions for improvement. It is unacceptable to have a text generated, translated or reformulated. Remember to acknowledge all innovative ideas that are not yours. For generated ideas use in-text citations. At the end of each assignment, state how you worked/did not work with AI. When in doubt, consult your teacher.
