- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to equip the participants with basic theoretical knowledge in the field of reproductive health and to introduce them to the importance and level of teaching sexual and reproductive health education in primary schools.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, the participant will: - understands and explains the importance of sexual-reproductive health in the overall concept of holistic health - understands the importance of sexual-reproductive health and its protection - applies the knowledge to his/her own life - discusses and argues about key and ethically problematic reproductive health issues e.g. abortion - explain and describe the anatomy and physiology of reproductive organs - define sexual dysfunctions and deviations and their manifestations and aetiology, define sexual orientation and sexual identification - list sexually transmitted diseases, their symptoms, modes of transmission and treatment - evaluate the importance of family planning, list contraceptive options, describe their effects, argue for and against the use of contraception - evaluate the availability of reproductive health teaching materials and the level of teaching in primary schools - understand the Sexuality Education Standard in Europe and the Sexuality Education.

- 1. Sexology, definition of the term, history of the field. 2. Sexuality in different periods of life. 3. Sex education x reproductive health education. Standards for sex education in Europe. 4. Anatomy and physiology of reproductive organs. Reproductive health and its protection. 5. Prevention of cervical and testicular cancer. 6. Sexually transmitted diseases, AIDS. 7. Pregnancy, abortion. Planned Parenthood. Contraception. Assisted reproduction, egg donation. 8. Sexual dysfunction, sexual deviance. Sexual orientation. Sexual identification. 9. Current topics in sex education. 10. InTime - e-learning.
