This part of the course presupposes a higher level of receptive skills that B2 and a level of productive skills B2.

Course objectives
This part of the course deals with the comparison of the Czech and French language systems. The translation exercise in the textbook French for advanced (lessons 21-25) draws attention to the differences between both languages and contributes to overcome the interferential influences. Translations of continuous texts with the utilisation of such translation procedures that enable to maintain the spirit of the target language. The supposes the level of receptive skills close to the C1 level and the level of productive skills higher that B2. At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand extended speech and lectures, articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems provided that the topic is reasonably familiar; interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts while accounting for, and sustaining, their views; write an essay or report, passing on information or giving reasons in support of, or against, a particular point of view.

  • Grammar, phraseology and vocabulary on the basis of the textbook and work with various texts. Translation procedures.

Teaching methods
Seminary, discussion, presentation.
Assessment methods
Follow-up: During the semester, students write tests to verify their knowledge. Their results will not affect the procedure for the test. Ending: examination. Written exam: Test of Lessons 1-14 including lexical exercises in the textbook  . Minimum success rate is 70%. Oral exam: reading tested in advance of the text. Tested vocabulary   this text. The test is evaluated once a mark according to test results and oral.
