- Course objectives
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquire the basic orientation in the anchoring of the subjects of the educational field Man and his world at the first level of elementary school but also the specific requirements in the teaching of natural sciences and social sciences in terms of organizational forms, teaching methods, didactic means, didactic principles And above all current trends in the use of constructivist and neuroscience approaches in the teaching of these subjects.

At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Understand and formulate educational goals in the teaching of human, nature and society subjects
- to distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of different organizational forms in the teaching of subjects about man, nature and society, apply them appropriately to their teaching
- uses multiple learning methods (observation, experiment, map / atlas, atlas / determinations, work with painting, narrative, ...) and appropriately classifies the lesson in different phases - prepare independently the right didactic means for teaching using information from the region of the place of residence or pedagogical field
- Prepares, evaluates and uses tools to diagnose pupils' preconceptions, knowledge, attitudes, and work habits. - Syllabus
- 1. Classification of subjects in current curricula. Structure of educational content. Framework Educational Program - Man and His World.
- 2. Preconceptions - meaning and diagnostics, use in teaching
- 3. Transmission vs. Constructivist and neuroscience approaches in teaching subjects about man, nature and society
- 4. Basic textbook, evaluation criteria and selection
- 5. Didactic Resources - Selected types of teaching aids, facilities and equipment of the school for learning about nature and society
- 6. Organizational forms specific to the teaching of subjects about man, nature and society (field lessons, teaching in the school garden, teaching in the laboratory, discussion, excursions, ...)
- 7. Teaching methods - verbal (narration, work with text, ...)
- 8. Teaching methods - demonstration demonstration (observation, work and map / picture, ...)
- 9. Teaching methods - skill-practical - work with measuring instruments, work with determination key, ...
