Course objectives
The students - receive information about basic principles of language and intercultural mediation as a further skill - at the end of the course they are able to recognize the difference between formal and informal translation (language mediation) - they learn about basic techniques of language mediation - they develop their communicative and intercultural competence
Syllabus
  • 1. Intercultural language mediation (Definition) 2. Difference between translating - interpreting - language mediation 3. Techniques of language mediation - paraphrase, summarize etc. (introduction) 4. Training of techniques 5. Test 6. Evaluation of the course and self-reflection
