Course objectives
This course introduces to students the method of playback theatre, which is one of the applied drama approaches, those are used also in educational and helping proffessions. The aim of the theatre is to open individual stories of audience and bring these stories through an improvisation of actors into community context and share it in interactive way in individual and social level. The course includes techniques of improvisation, work with stories and facilitation. Playback theatre is also introduced by theoretical and historical background.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to: - define basic concepts of playback theater; - describe the goals of playback theater; - summarize foreign approaches and events around playback theater; - plan the possibilities of using playback theater with different target groups; - work in the playback theater's team and know the regulations of each form, apply individual forms of playback theater in social and pedagogical practice.

  • Roots of playback theatre (PT) and its history, description of PT according to another apllied drama approaches, PT schools from abroad and other inspiration, posibility of use of PT, Czech context of PT, ritual in PT, conductor in PT, red line of a story in PT, actors in PT, musician in PT, short forms, long forms, PT group and performance, feedback.

Active participation in the course, final performance, feedback, group analysis of the work together, discussion. Credit.
Náhradní absolvování (in Czech)
V případě studijního zahraničního výjezdu je možné předmět absolvovat v~náhradní podobě. Studující si domluví 20-ti hodinovou stáž - náslechy přímé praxe - v~zahraniční organizaci (organizacích), která playback divadlo aplikuje. Studující si povede reflektivní deník všech náslechů, který posléze konzultuje s~vyučující. Studující si prostuduje studijní oporu a odevzdá jako výstup studia deník.
