- Course objectives
- Objective: to get more information on the issue of personality development with epilepsy. The student will be well oriented in the development of person with epilepsy in the educational system in the Czech Republic. Student will acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the successful development of persons with epilepsy.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to:
- to characterize a person with epilepsy and to provide the first aid in the event of a deterioration in the current state of health
- orientated in legislative support ( Notice n. 197/2016 Sb., Support Measures)
- prepare documentation for the creation of a pedagogical support plan
- develop recommendations for the development of an individual education plan - respect and implement the recommended support measures
- Set up interview questions with parents and make regular communication with parents
- propose measures to ensure the special educational needs of the pupil in the inclusive class. - Syllabus
- 1. Historical development of approaches to persons with disabilities.
- 2. Definition of selected concepts in the context of neurological disease (epilepsy).
- 3. System of education of pupils with epilepsy.
- 4. Legislative conditions for education of persons with epilepsy.
- 5. Consulting and inclusive education of persons with epilepsy.
- 6. Educational Support Plan and Individual Educational Plan (IEP) of a pupil with epilepsy.
- 7. Specifics of working with persons with epilepsy.
- 8. Somatic, psychological and social aspects of neurological disease.
- 9. Principles of first aid in the case of complications of the acute medical condition of persons with epilepsy.
- 9. Integrated (coordinated) rehabilitation.
- 10. Presentation of selected research investigations, which focused on the quality of life persons with epilepsy - examples of good practice.

- Seminar, class discussion, students project and their presentation and discussion. Discussion with experts.

- Docházka: 75% V jarním semestru 2022 se projekt nebude zpracovávat!
Vypracování seminární práce na vybrané téma:
1. Vytvořit modelový individuální vzdělávací plán žáka/studenta s epilepsií.
2. Vytvořit pomůcku jedinci s epilepsií (edukační, kompenzační, pracovní, relaxační aj.).
3. Připravit aktivitu v modelovém prostředí s využitím osvojených strategií.
4. Na modelovém případu promyslet důležitá materiálně-technická a organizační opatření nezbytná pro úspěšný rozvoj modelového jedince s epilepsií.
5. Připravit podklady pro interview s rodiči žáka s epilepsií.
Projekty studentů budou následně ve výuce prezentovány a diskutovány. Ohodnoceno bude celkové zpracování a prezentace projektu.
Písemný test bude obsahovat 10 otevřených otázek. Pro úspěšné absolvování kurzu je nutných 75 % správných odpovědí. - Language of instruction
