Course objectives
The student will acquire basic knowledge about the diagnostics of impaired communication skills and methods that can be used in special pedagogical diagnostics. Within the course, the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation as well as the activity of counseling facilities in the education sector will be presented.
Learning outcomes
• the student is oriented in the possibilities of interdisciplinary cooperation within the framework of complex diagnostics of impaired communication skills and counseling provided in school counseling facilities; • • knows basic procedures for diagnosing impaired communication skills; • • can describe the basic methods of diagnosis of impaired communication ability.
Syllabus
  • Aphasia - etiology, classification, diagnosis, comprehensive support for people with aphasia.
  • Dysarthria - developmental, acquired. Etiology, classification, diagnosis, symptomatology, speech therapy principles intervention.
  • Dysphagia in children and adults.
  • Voice disorders - etiology, symptoms, voice hygiene in childhood and in adults.
  • Symptomatic speech and language disorders in persons with intellectual disabilities. Speech therapy intervention in children with intellectual development disorders.
  • Symptomatic speech disorders in children with physical disabilities and specifics of speech therapy intervention in children with severe visual disabilities.
  • Symptomatic speech disorders in children with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Alternative and augmentative communication - definition of the term, classification of systems, process of choosing a communication system.
