Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the life situation of students with various forms of special educational needs - with aspects of difficulties and support of human and professional character.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be oriented: - in key categories of special educational needs; - in basic terminology related to the given areas of Special Educational Needs.
Syllabus
  • Life situation of a pupil with special educational needs. A pupil / child with SEN, his/her specifics, needs. Family of a child with SEN. Interdisciplinary cooperation and its importance. Competencies and roles of a special education teacher. Factors shaping the life situation of a child/pupil with SEN. A pupil with SEN in a school environment.

In order to successfully complete the course, the following requirements (assignments) must be met: 1. based on the text assigned by the course instructors, the learner will answer questions related to the text. a/ the text submitted will be part of the peer assessment (peer assessment is in IS, info by email, will be explained in detail in the introductory class) b/ group work: evaluation of the case study c/ written text with closed questions (answer sheet in IS) at the end of the semester
