Course objectives
Students will acquire theoretical knowledge from the field of diagnostics and therapy of individual types of communication impairment; additional knowledge for diagnosis and therapy of developmental dysphasia, rhinolalia, palatolalia, balbuties, tumultus sermonis will be added; the issue of selecting a suitable communication system will be discussed within the framework of the AAC and the facilitation strategies.
Learning outcomes
After completing the subject student: - can define the forms of communication disrupted; - knows the possibilities of diagnostics and interdisciplinary cooperation in the discussed forms of impaired communication skills; - Focuses on the goals of speech therapy, promoting people with these forms of impaired communication skills.

Impaired communication ability caused by cleft palate - definition, etiology, symptomatology. Diagnostic process and interdisciplinary collaboration. Logopedic therapy, development of communication skills in home and school environment. Use of alternative and augmentative communication - the specifics of selecting a suitable communication system.
